Been lusting after one for a while & the new shop just down the road has had this beauty for a while. Hadn't looked closely, as I assumed I couldn't swing it & didn't wanna torment myself. Stopped by yesterday, on the way to the gunshow with a friend & we both eyeballed 'er. .45-70, non-ported, tagged at $575. Couldn't get 'er out of my head & went back today. '02 model, perfect fit/finish & very smooth action. Unbelievably handy. OTD for a hair over $600. I am beyond chuffed to finally have one of these beauties in my grubby hands. Will make an excellent companion to my "Accusport" s/s Bisley .41.

Congrats! My late dad had a couple marlin 45-70s. Good shooters. Dramatic results on smallish Bama white tail does! You can load that thing hot for Africa if you so desire. Very happy for you.
