That Burris on the 38 Super is most likely a 1X.. I prefer the 2X but got a deal on some 1X versions at some point in time. For the rabble, these scopes are built for Gil Hebard just for Bullseye shooters. The eye piece is actually marked "Gil Hebard." They have very fine crosshairs and a large (4 minute I think) dot. Works out to where if you keep the dot in the 8 inch black at 50 yards, containing the X, 10, 9 and 8 rings, all the shots on target will be 10s and Xs.

Pre series 70 commercial Colt wadcutter gun with Colt NM barrel and bushing and Bomar rib. Originally built by retired AF Gunsmith Forest Davis while he was still in San Antonio, TX. Tweaked a bit in the 80s by the late great All NG PistolTeam Gunsmith, Joe Chambers, and tweaked again in the 90s by All NG MTU Gunsmith Daniel Norwood

When I retired from the NG and turned my guns in I knew I'd need a hardball gun for service pistol matches. Asked Daniel Norwood to build me one. Built on a NM slide and Caspian frame. Looks pretty simple but has all modification allowed for competition. We could have low mounted the rear sight but as a pure competion gun a low mount is cosmetic.. The modification restrictions for competition are external. Internal mods are unrestricted. Means that this gun will shoot!..

Cool Para, does it function reliably? I bought a Para frame kit about 15 years ago and built a 10mm, I never could get it function reliably. Then I had a Bar-Sto 40 S&W barrel fit to it and it still had the same problem. We tried everything, it was just a lemon. I spent a fortune and had 3 different 'smiths work on it. I finally had enough and traded it off. It's too bad, I really liked the feel of the double stack frame. Yes sir. I bought the BarSto barrel/bushing from someone on one of the site's in 2005 or so when I was living in Alberta. Had a 'smith in northern Alberta fit it and it has run 'em both ever since. Just a spring swap is all I do.

Wilson Professional. Not much bling--and makes ragged little bitty holes.

A poor old worn out stripped down by Les. The previous owner, some guy with a weird name like Thor, Mercury, Aphrodites or Zeus, shot it so hard he wore off the right side safety and the front serrations. Some guys can just bust up an anvil with their heads! ;D

Bought this Remington Rand from a pawn shop in the mid 60s. Pawn shop was located on one of the main drags in Palm Springs Calif. When I asked about the gun, the owner pulled it out of the display case, inserted a magazine, racked the slide and shot a playing card tacked to a block of wood on the wall. Startled an older lady in the shop but other than an expletive that was it. Today, that would drawn a swat team response. Paid $40 which was, at the time, a fair bit of money for an 18 yr old kid. When I bought it, it had the original parkerized finish. I foolishly (but couldn't have known at the time) worked all services to a mirror finish with crocus cloth and cold blued it (don't remember with what or how). Replaced a few parts and shot it a bunch with surplus ammo. I left it with my dad when I went in the service a couple of years later. When I came back, it had a fair amount of rust resulting from exposure to swamp coolers. I took off the rust with steel wool, touched it up with crocus cloth and had a gunsmith student reblue it. It has had some use since then. The hard rubber grips have been replaced with some off of a Colt Ace (no longer in my possession). . . Paul

That's a killin gun Robb, take care of it. Shot a few deer with it for various reasons and was a great pig tracking gun shoots tiny groups and has never bobbled a single time!

I only have one semi auto of anysort but it a goodun, if i had to go to one handgun it would be the last to leave... This picture is a few years old and it has a fair bit more wear on it now. I think I have 20K+ rounds through it by now and it is smoother now than when I got it...
