Back in the early-mid '90s, I was curious, and procured a Uberti Buckhorn, directly from Uberti USA. It had a 4 3/4" barrel, fixed sights, and featured an elongated, 2-piece, steel grip-frame. The gun was very solidly built; locked up tight, and had no discernable end-shake.. Several hundred factory rounds, and a few thousand heavy handloads later, it was still tight, and remarkably comfortable gun to shoot - considering its relatively light weight and smaller size. The only work I put into it was a routine internal de-burring, and installation of fancy walnut, one-piece grips.. Sold it to a friend who kept pestering me for it, as I had done about all I ever wanted to do with the .44 Mag cartridge, and had made the complete transition to .45 Colt and the .454 Casull.. The Buckhorn was always a solid, well-mannered shooter..
