Anybody build ammo for that? Got a rifle in the works, want loads if you could.

I shoot a 142 gr. Sierra MK over a pretty stiff load of H4350 & a Fed match primer. It wouldn't do for me to give the charge weight as the rifle's throat is really deep, & my bullets are seated waaay out. FWIW, H4350 or RL17 seem to be the go to powders with the heavy bullets, but RL19 & H4831 are worth a look.

Seems that I've read in the recent past that Remington pulled the same SNAFU and used the wrong twist with the 260 something like they did with the old 244. I owned a Remington 700 in varmint configuration back when the 260 was new. Didn't shoot it much but best I remember it grouped pretty well. With luck some more active rifle shooters will come along with more and better information than I have to share.

Yeah, I should have mentioned the my barrel is 1 in 8" twist. A 1 in 9 or slower probably won't stabilize the heavier VLD type bullets.

140 Hornady SST, 44 grains IMR4831, 2638 fps in a 21" barrel Encore. 44.0 Grains IMR 4831 is Hodgdon published max for a 140 Nosler. According to my notes, the IMR 4831 outperformed Reloder 19 & H414 when I was working up loads.

Have often thought the .260 or the 7mm-08 would be all thats needed for deer at any range. But factory loadings, twists, etc., a worry. stevemb

What twist?
I just love the 130gn Swift Sciroccos over H4350 in my Sako but it has a 1 in 8" twist. The load is a little hot but I can get 2900fps from it.
Handloader Issue #272 - June, 2011 has load info for a Kimber that has a 1 in 9" and that's where I got my load info.
My Browning Low Wall won't even think about shooting them at 1 in 10".
