Hauled the 4 5/8 3 screw gun home today too... This gun, while still a fair deal, was much less than I expected... Looked virtually as new in the pics I was shown. In real life frame looks to have been colored with a sharpie... Minor pitting on the cylinder. Came with the original black walnuts and some Eagle Sambar stags.. The stags will not hold a candle to the Ajax stags I bought last month.. Lots of pith. For some reason I was expecting Eagle quality to be better than Ajax... Ends up being a good shooter grade gun and a likely conversion candidate..

Axahandle, Sounds like an omen to me. This gun is destinded to be a Sketer gun chambered in 38/40 I can just see it looking at your pictures. Didnt you buy it pending satisfaction? I would never buy or sell without that option.

The gun is well worth what I put into it... Just not the cherry safe queen it looked in the pics.... This is actually good if it is to live at my house... We don't do safe queens...

Bad news on this one... The boys on the Ruger Forum say Chad lists this gun as the highest known BKH-34 with "silver eagle" medallion walnuts...
For the guys who are interested Look at page 44 of RENE's Reference of Ruger Firearms, Volume One, third revision... Right column, third paragraph...

Grinning Monkey.... Thinking Monkey.... Snaggled Tooth Monkey.... It is a hard choice... Maybe I need a 4th monkey ;D
My gun trading is simply blind luck... Of course it helps to be well networked and have a reputation for being willing to pay a fair price... These last two Rugers were simply a case of good friends stumbling on good deals and passing them on to me... We didn't know what the 4 5/8 was until the boys on the Ruger Forum pointed it out...

markbo, i believe this is now the highest (last) known serial number for a 3-screw BKH-34 that came from the factory with silver eagle medallion equipped walnut grips.
