Hey bushog,
Did you supply the walnut for the grips or was it available from Jack?
What was the approx turnaround time?
TIA,
Paul

Cool little customs, wonder what there coming in weight wise? Might have to have one. I asked that question today and he hadn't weighed one yet. But, I will find out!

Steve supplied the wood like he said. I just picked it out.
I believe the wait was about 6 months.

I'm liking em. I'd love to have a number on the weight on on the scallops.
I have some midframe .480 plans myself. My New Vaquero (w/ an XR3-RED) is around the shop at Jack's lacking only the .476 barrel, and I just got the last piece of the puzzle for converting my Talo Stainless 44 SPL to a Bisley - stage 2 may well be another .480... Those stainless bisley kits are as scarce as snake legs.

Hey bushog, Did you supply the walnut for the grips or was it available from Jack? TIA, Paul Both actually. I sold a bunch of pieces here on the forum, and I also traded Jack Huntington a box full of pieces as a partial trade on custom work. I've been working on getting more walnut, but it won't be 'til after the first of the year.

I saw that blued version on the cast boolits website and I was sold. I think the Perfect Packin' Pistol has been redefined!

Ouch.
This site continues to drain my bank account. And the search starts for a donor gun.
Congratulations on your new piece Bushog!

I see Mr. Huntington being a very busy man for quite some time to come. I am smitten.

Nice! I'd like to hold that Bisley gripped frame version when complete. Jack's relieving the grip frame a bit behind the trigger guard should work wonders. Round the butt a bit and it will make one fine PPP. So far as strength goes no doubt in my mind. Ruger answered that question back in the 50s when they tried to make the mid frame Blackhawk a 44 magnum.

I searched some old threads on this and see that both Bowen and Clements will not build one. This build really intrests me as I too see this as a perfect packing pistol and hunting companion.
