Those are really slick, I really like that bottom one. Pretty wood too, I think that's some of the English walnut he got from me. I traded him a whole box full of it as a partial payment on some custom work. I like that modified grip frame better than the Bisley. I had Jack reshape an OM SBH gripframe and fit it to my .41 mag. I couldn't be happier with the way it shoots and feels.

I really like that stainless gun. Whit, any idea if these are projects he is building for customer or as an inventory gun for sale?

I don't think I realized these were being done on mid-frames. They look fantastic!

I do believe you are right about that walnut!

Whit,
I really love this concept.
Can Jack blue the FA front sight base?
Did the modified gripframe (the one with the gorgeous walnut grip panels) start out as a Bisley or plow handle.
I can see one of those in blue, color case hardened, scallops, fluted and beveled cylinder, modified grip frame, FA front blackened/blued, 4 1/2" bbl, and maybe some faux ivory grip panels (or sheep horn, or that beautiful walnut -- so many choices).
Miha 385gr HPs (per Zeus's buffalo hunt) at about 950 fps.

I have a NIB stainless Talo that I was going to convert to 41 Magnum. Looks like there'll be a change in plans. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

The 4" octagon barrled bisley some one here had looked great too. I have a question though. How is he doing these on the mid frames.

The frame length dictates that a shorter cartridge be used (like a .480) than a full-sized Blackhawk frame, and the cylinder diameter is smaller (even though the replacement cylinder is larger in diameter than stock), but the material of the cylinder is better than stock and heat treated. There is no issue with strength. THese are really slick pieces!

Paul No, the FA front sight base being stainless steel cannot be blued, however, Jack can build an identical piece in carbon steel that can be blued. Yes, that gun had a plow handle on it that Jack performed his modifications to.

I would love to have on of these though.
