I got this 7br for my dad for fathers day last year. It likes 29 gr H322 and 120 gr nosler bal tips. I was in my dads ladder stand which is 190 yds from my stand. We dont hunt them both at the same time because they are so close. We were switching off Monday and Tuesday. He would hunt the mornings and I would be in an elevated blind about 300 yds away. In the evening we would switch. We've both been seeing horns and yesterday morning he had a really nice shooter buck come 70 yds in front of him, but couldnt make the off hand shot. He was really jacked and had a great hunt anyway. (Our ladder stands dont have shooting rails so a full on front shot is the most difficult because there is no rest.) I've been hunting with a scoped Ruger 41 bisley hunter for the first two days of season. Dad had to work today, so I grabbed his xp and got in his stand. About 2 hrs into the hunt, the buck just stepped into a small food plot 166 yds away right in front of the other stand. I tried to get on him, but it seemed every time my heart beat the cross hairs would go completely off the buck. It took a few minutes to get into a position that I felt comfortable with and for the cross hairs to settle down. I squeezed and after the recoil I saw two nice bucks and a doe take off. He ran about 60 yds and piled up. Turns out I shot between two ribs on the right side, took out the front of the heart and blew a rib on the exit.

Onegoodshot, let me offer you a pat on the back for such a fine shot. You showed excellent patience and disipline and your skill compliments all handgun hunters who try to remain a cut above. A fine buck too!!!!

Thanks gentlemen.
I REALLY want to get a nice buck with a revolver (iron sites). I've carried my Ocatgon 41 Clements the last couple days, but havent seen any shooters on the farm since I shot my buck. Sadly, my iron site shooting skills dont offer me much advantage (if any) to shooting my bow.
