Here's one I got last week, my 4th solo meat bull (moose). Freezer was getting low so I took the Kimber 325wsm along with the 454 Redhawk. I just couldn't let him walk. I really wanted to call one in to handgun range this year but it didn't pan out. He was out in the open walking across a dried up lake at about 1000yds out. No cover for a close stalk, ankle high grass and flat ground. I was trying to head him off and get to an old beaver hut for some cover and a rest but he knew I was there and seemed to be getting a little nervous and walking with more of a purpose than just a slow mosey like when I first spotted him. He'd move, I'd move, he'd stop, I'd stop. Finally I ranged him at 365yds and took a keeling shot when he'd stopped broadside. The bull did a 180, took 2 steps, stopped, butt went down slowly and then he flipped over backwards dead. He topped off our freezer and is taking up space in a few other folks freezers who needed meat as well. Life is good.... And I recovered another 200gr Accubond from the 325wsm on a 300+yd moose kill. It weighs 150gr, nice little mushroom and was probably at about 2200ish fps on impact. Great performance. Blew through his chest and the far shoulder and stopped under the hide.

How does it work up there with meat vs trophy bulls? Everything I hear and read say they have to have 50" of spread or 4 brow times on one side to be legal. Are the rules different in some areas or is it a resident set of rules versus a non-resident thing? Just wondering.
I'd be tickled with that bull anyways, you cant eat antlers my grandpa would say...

Nice work, Snyd!! Can't argue with the bullet's performance or your shooting for that matter! Congratulations!

There are Any Bull areas and "Spike/Fork, 50 or 4 browtines" Some areas it's "Spike/Fork, 50 or 3 browtines". I typically hunt Any Bull areas. Some areas are Any Bull for Residents but "Spike/Fork, 50" for Non-Residents. As far as what makes a Trophy versus a Meat Bull. I suppose that depends on the hunter. But, here's a pic of a 69 1/4 incher my buddy and I got one year. He was the shooter. He'd of shot it no matter how big the rack was. Me too. Compare that to the 36incher I got this year and there's a big difference. I guess for me if they are 50 I figure they are beyond what I'd call a "Meat Bull". Here's a couple other Meat Bulls I've got over the years. The fork is pretty funny. I call him "Double Spike" cuz he's got 2 spikes instead of one main horn that forks. The other was about 40.

Very nice Snyd, looks like a dandy eating bull. I'm guessing backstraps for supper. That grass does look a little shallow for a stalk.

Congrats Snyd. Loved the thread over on the outdoor forums and everyone sharing pictures. Any moose is a trophy in my mind due to the hundreds ofmpoundsmof healthy, and very tasty, meat. We were up late last night cutting and vac-packing 110 lbs of dogs and pepper sticks from my moose. We had it processed locally but get the sausage and sticks in bulk somwemcan cut and package in proportions we want--along with variety packs for family to try the different favors.
