"Lightweight" on the slide refers to an alloy frame.

Thursday, more chipmunk hunting. Taking down old shutters. If no rain, then watering garden and flower beds.

Not being a farmer, there are times I wish we had ground hogs and chipmunks to shoot in the off season down here

Looks like the run fast shoot fast revolver guys like this 38 Short Colt. They load it in a moon clip for faster loading and unloading. Modern gun loading data does not exist. My plan is to try Titegroup with a 147 grain cast bullet. Moon clips with the 38 case is a quagmire. Good thing I don't like moon clips. I'll plan to get some Speed Beez loaders to play with..

Not being a farmer, there are times I wish we had ground hogs and chipmunks to shoot in the off season down here That was a good time when I lived at my parents. Groundhogs, chipmunks and red squirrels were my targets all inside 75yds. The groundhogs were easy so I started shooting them with revolvers and open sight lever actions. I remember one huge one I filled up with 135 grain gold dots and it still got away. The smaller varmints were fast moving and harder to hit. That’s where my Model 700 17 fireball came in. It was super accurate and destroyed anything I shot with it. There were no crawl offs that’s for sure.

Ground hogs learn to pattern you pretty quick, so patience is paramount
