Awoke to messages from friends and family across the country. Those that chose to live in cities are worried, concerned. Those in the rural places have to turn on tV to see whats going on. We were in and outta Erie Penn yesterday early enough and stayed up in the new part near rt90.. No issues. Have friend that co-owns a BnB in downtown, near waterfront Erie. He is in body armor and tac vest, appropriately armed for the activity. Have a great niece stuck in downtown Charleston SC., she was asked by her Mom to come stay out of the city but chose to stay there. She is very well educated, schooled around the world, lefty/libby ,and too brilliant to take advice from the people that paid for her schooling now. This may be a learning experience for her, but am thinking her take away likely would be different than mine.

My daughter lives in Erie and works at Hamot hospital. She works nights, pray for her safety.

My friends place is across the street and inland one block. Next to the girls school. Still have some cousins in Erie, Dad grew up at 2nd and Parade, the east side of Hamot.

Decided to distance from all the crazy news and spent the day transplanting lavender plants and hop plants. Once they were moved it was make the plus bean string trellis and get them planted along with the sweet corn and first planting of carrots. First set of peas are blooming and second planting is about 2 weeks behind just they are spaced out. A few more plant starts and seeds to get and garden will be all in. Yesterday was setting up the frame system for the bird netting over the loaded blueberry bushes. I lii I be growing our own food, meat and eggs.

With the county fair being cancelled the grandkids will be selling, beef, pork and goat. Not sure yet what I'll be buying.

Monday? Reloading! Hauling some compost for the compost pile. Nice and quiet here. FWIW a concealed carry permit in Alabama is required to stash a loaded handgun in your car or truck. Doesn't cover a rifle or shotgun. These AR pistols fill that void nicely!
