Here's my little Havanese on a camping trip this Spring (no, he's not an outside dog and it was obvious he didn't enjoy camping): Edit to add: The dirty toes you see sticking out belong to my (then) 3yo daughter) Chris

For the unexposed the "Havanese" brings on a whole new understanding of "dog." Ours turned one last May and is something to be experienced.. In the descriptions you read of them they write about a phenomonon called "Run Like Hell." I would not have believed it had I not seen it first hand... Every day is an adventure!

In the descriptions you read of them they write about a phenomonon called "Run Like Hell." I would not have believed it had I not seen it first hand... Every day is an adventure! Ours turned two in June and is finally starting to settle down from the puppy phase. Ours mainly does the RLH thing when he's been in a kennel and he first returns home. What I find amusing is if you put him to bed early (he sleeps with my oldest daughter), he'll get up and wander around upstairs, obviously not ready to sleep yet. However, if you stay up late and he decides it's time to go to bed, he'll sit in front of the stairs waiting for you to take him up. If you then put him in bed, he'll stay there till morning. They're funny little dogs who think they're bigger. Great personalities, love kids, love other dogs (and cats too), aren't prone to chase other animals or run off (mine will only leave the house off leash if he sees me outside, otherwise, he won't cross the threshold). When I work from home, he curls up under my chair or finds a spot nearby where he can nap and keep an eye on me. Yup! They're bestest buds. Chris

Freedom, that is really neat. Dunno why, but I really like goats. Such neat animals. If I had some property, I think I'd like to get a couple. When I was a kid, my grandmother's neighbor had goats and we used to feed them through the fence. My parents live in that house now. I keep telling my dad he needs some pygmy goats. Chris
