You needn't pull out the .429 magnum as the .41Magnum will handle the 250gr bullets just fine. ;D Look at the monster bullets Lee puts through his .41s. It's as if he's trying to give them a hernia.

Look at the monster bullets Lee puts through his .41s. It's as if he's trying to give them a hernia. Well, even I've back off a little. I was shooting 335 grain casts in my 5-shot 41 for years. Originially I used stock 1:20 twist and they flew great, even at distance. I later mated a 1:14" Douglas blank to the same gun. Accuracy was outstanding and the 335's grouped about the same. I've since moved to lighter weights with 265 - 295 being ideal. That's not to say the gun won't see more 335 work down the road though. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

I have and shoot a Redhawk 41, and have not worried about the twist in it. It is factory and shoots better than I could tell the difference. It would be interesting for me to study it out a bit better. It killed my bull moose at 65 yds. With a 125gr gas checked cast and 19 gr. of 2400 and only took one shot. Good enough for me. I also shoot some 250 gr WFN from LBT. I haven't shot it very much lately (since getting my 44 fan club special) and plan on using it more soon. I will leave the twist rate for you smart guys to figure out and let me know the answers soon. Steve

Twist rate has never proved to be a critical part of the equation. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

You are correct, Fermin, it was late and I hit the wrong key. It was a 225 gr bullet. Like I said, I will leave the technical stuff to the smart guys. Thanks for reminding me. Steve

I doubt one will ever see the difference between any of them... I shoot a lot of 300s and the bullets go right where the sights are when it touches off. Ruger Bisley Hunter with 300 SSKs from Penn Bullet....the one out was me not the gun... Reeder Custom with LBT 300s... FA with 255 CPBC WFN-GC... 300s shoot just as well from Smiths also.... Bob
