This very COOL. I love this stuff. I wish I had the know how - I have a friend who machines precision parts for the medical equipment industry. He used to make 1911 parts - I'm trying to talk him into trying a SA project. He is following with interest as well.
Thanks Lee!

Whit I knew the base was the #1 front sight base but I didnt know what the plan for the sight blade is, suppose it only makes since though...

Lee, that has to be a pain having to take so many pics to show your progress. Many thanks for taking the time to document your progress. Very enlightening. That original Seyfried revolver and his articles used to mesmerize me when they first came out. They still do.

Whit I knew the base was the #1 front sight base but I didnt know what the plan for the sight blade is, suppose it only makes since though... The sight blade will be out of 4140 and get two gold bars just like Ross'. The No. 1 sight is going to be cut at the band and we'll reshape the ramp to match the Seyfried original. I don't believe there's enough height under the post slot to mill the blade integral. We'll likely make the post a set-screw affair. As previously noted, I don't think Linebaugh used the band portion of the No. 1 sight. The i.d. is way too big the barrel. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Also what are you doing for grips? Just wondering, I am enjoying the heck out of this project of yours... I'll be using the stock panels. I prefer high-end wood for custom projects but since this is a clone the originals stay (Ross' wore the factory walnuts). -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Mike Barranti offered to be part of this project by creating a special holster. A few pages back I posted the sketch he did of a cape buffalo. Well, Mike just completed the real thing and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. It's a Hank Sloan model and the carving is unbelievable. The amount of detail Mike was able to include is amazing: I'm really excited about taking delivery on it. I'm even more excited about meeting Mike in person. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

The look on the face of that Cape Buf definitely coveys the "you owe me money" look you were going for in your drawing Lee! Amazing that Mike was able to capture that temperament in a leather medium... some painters can't even pull that off on canvas! Beautiful holster...

Thanks. Mike definitely captured the "all business" look with the face. I should also add that the sketch was done by Mike. I'd be lucky to outline that well. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

I dont know just a thought. That barrel band you have looks as if it might be off a Tropical model #1...

Lee, on the backside of the holster I tried to get Mike to do you a "Texas Heart Shot" view of that Cape Buffler. Only trouble is he is such a nice guy.....

That barrel band you have looks as if it might be off a Tropical model #1... Mine is a No. 1 Tropical band so you may be right about the 1-A. Even those ramps don't look high enough to create the blade though. I really prefer integral bands but since Ross' was separate and we're trying to clone, I'm fine with this approach. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

That would make it even more one-of-a-kind Fermin. But joking aside, I'm blown away with how this holster turned out. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Really beautiful holster,Is it first up for this up coming hunting season?
Great videos this week, really enjoy seeing the progression, this is going to be a dumb question but, your Bridgeport's, how often to you need to re-calibrate?, If at all I know they are built like tanks.
