Hello Fella's,
Any of you guys have knowledge or experiences on what brand/style of .22's is the quietest?
For example .22CB VS .22 Subsonic, and what brand???
As always, Thank Ya Fella's!!!!!

Are we talking out of a rifle or a revolver? There is a difference.
Out of a rifle (22"+), most subsonic ammo is "quiet enough" and I have seen yard pests run off when shot with Longs and CBs.
Lately my garden rifle shoots Wolf Match Target with the noses flattened by a Hanned tool (think trim die to file the round part off) so that they look like WFNs.
Works good! Bang - flop!
I think the .22 Longs are pretty quiet from revolvers, but they are moving very slow and have about the power of a BB gun from a revolver barrel.

If you need more slap for bigger pests, try a .357 rifle with .38 148gr WC ammo loaded to about 700fps with a fast shotgun powder like 700X or Red Dot. Sounds funny and not like a gun and packs some punch. During load development, watch for stuck boolits in the bore.

If out of a rifle, I'd go with the Super Colibri (I LOVE the regular Colibri out of a revolver for quiet plinking). I've heard the new CCI Quiet-22 is quite...well...quiet.

If you have never shot any of these pipsqueak rounds, be aware that: 1. They take a while to get there 2. They drop A LOT 3. They group like a shotgun.
Now I am not talking match ammo... just the super colibri, etc. Very quiet but you can't shoot anything from a long ways off.

Don't throw out a blanket on the super colibri rounds Mark. They are tack drivers in my guns and they will fully penetrate rabbits at 30 yrd but stop shortly after in about 1/2" of cedar fencing. They are headshot accurate easily. They make basically no noise from my guns and do about 600 fps. The only thing you have to be careful of in long barreled rifles is to make sure they exit due to drag. I've never had one not exit but they are about 40 fps faster in a 16" barrel than my 20" rifle. I have numerous bricks of them and they have helped eradicate a lot of rabbits in KS heck even kings6 has been using them lately with great success
