David Clements' "Ultimate 44 Special" is back from the plater. Got a picture today.... Looks to me like David has been to the Robb Barnes school of photography.... Give me a little time to gather some pennies to bail it out and we post more.... ;D

It has a nice rugged sort of look to it. I bet it will be a tack driver. The 5 shot 45 I just bought is Metalife'd so I am curious to see what it looks like up close. You do know that Bowen makes a nice Rough Country rear sight for it...

Dave sent a second pic that shows the finish a little better... Never been a fan of the stock Ruger rear sight. A Bowen rear could be just down the road...

At least David HAS a camera! I still have a new 327 bisley from John long with some goodies from Cary and old ivories for a XR-3 Ruger on the way that I'll just have to "paint a word picture" of.

The 5 shot 45 I just bought is Metalife'd so I am curious to see what it looks like up close. When I decided to bastardize a Maximum, I went all out. It's also Metalife'd. I'm actually OK with it looking either gaudy or classy. I'm liking the finish on this 44 special.

Some of these hard chrome guns really look like stainless... I have a 4 5/8 NM 41 that looks like a factory stainless Ruger.... Had Wilson build a 1911 in the 80s that was metaloy. It looked like the bead blasted finish of the field grade FAs... Had a Clark 1911 built and hard chromed at the same time that was significantly different. It was polished on the flats and satin on the curves like a factory stainless Colt of the era... Some people were almost ready to fight about that gun being stainless...
