For those of you who do not care for the aluminum front sight on your BFR revolver we are going to be cutting these blanks next week. These are done one at a time to .0005" tolerance. If you want one of these you should PM me for details. These are specially contoured for the .820 barrel diameter and should be of adequate height for heavy loads. Delivery time should be about 2 weeks. Remember, these are BLANKS. Ready to be serrated, have gold bars inserted, or even a brass bead, and blued by your local smith. Very soon we will be addressing all the Rugers that have a "too short" front sight so stay tuned. Replacement front sight blank shown here next to a stock BFR front. 59 dollars plus 3 for shipping. Thanks! TimM 3 Otto 2 Subsonic 1 Kaytod 1 Buckheart 1 Stan 2 Whitworth 1 Obersaber 1

Finially got the USPS money order for mine out of here in the mail today. Guess I'd better start looking for those BFRs now.. Anybody remember exactly where I put those things.. Who'd have ever thought a grown man could misplace a pair of long cylinder 10 inch barreled revolvers.

Here's a copy of the PM I sent to Fermin on Message sent on Feb 4, 2012, 5:33pm (he also got my cell Phone number in this PM) Fermin, I've pulled a shorter front sight off my one of my 45Colt BFR's. I will send it off to you Monday if needed. I don't know how finished your going to have them made so I will just give you my finished spec's and you can go accordingly.
I was thinking a Undercut Patridge profiled blade like the one Ken makes for freedom arms.
I was thinking a total height for the sight of .6" (this is BFR's factory sight height used on there 475s). A blade thickness of .120" (again factory spec's). which can be thinned if someone fills so inclined.
Any questions please don't hesitate to ask ether threw PM's or by phone.

2 Dogs the profile of my front sight is a bit different than the one you show above. This is the factory sight. The orange paint is my doing.

Most of us have files, not so many have welders.
If in doubt, make them too tall.

Subsonic, we are making every effort to be sure that you recieve a sight that fits properly, is quite handsome, and of adequate height. We want to get the last as close as possible because it makes no sense to have to cut 1/4" off a custom sight! So, if a guy needs .405" no problem. .605", still no problem. The idea is to get it right the first time if we can.
Stan, your sight should at least be .405". Please text me a photo of yours.
Buckheart, the new sight should be more purposeful and muscular looking than the original. A sleeker look with a flat blade that is easily recontoured or serrated as needed is what we are after. The blade itself should allow for more holdover if you are shooting at longer ranges.
