The meanest thumpin' revolver I ever shot was a Raging Bull in .454...I was at a range when the guy next to me suggested I try his... One shot sent pain through my wrist and arm....I handed the gun back. It was evil.
Ouch is an understatement.

It's a shame that instead of letting the .500 Mag die, Taurus didn't turn it into a six-round .455/ .445/.414 and .375 SuperMag. The still-born .223 revolver was the same frame and could have easily become a seven-round .357 Maximum. There is very little difference between the .500 S&W and Elgin Gates' .500 SuperMag.
