My oldest son Randy, the one that was in the bad wreck last summer, went before the BSA Eagle Board of Review last night. Started off bad, head honcho was a guy I got into it with last year at a camp,he could'nt understand why I was first simply mad and then irate at the American flag on the right Missouri flag on the left and the friggin Italian flag in the middle,he calmly explained that it was out of "respect" for a visiting Italian Scout,he didnt seem to comprehend my explaining to him the respect the Italians showed my Great Uncle as he marched from one end of Italy to the other in WWII. It ended when my wife finally grabbed my arm as I said "oh thats how you all work", puzzled look from him got, indoctrination at a young age you #^%$@*& from me. Also I have been trying to get thru to Randy that if you believe in something stand behind it and if you have something to say then by God say it,and leave no gray area. Well he passed and is now an Eagle Scout!!! Head liberal idgit then proceeds to tell Randy that he can get a signed letter from the president and starts digging for the form, My dear dear son said to him...Sir out of respect for the flag on my shoulder and for my Dad that information will not be neccessary..... I darn near died, but other than the other guy turning a bit red nothing else was said.

BSA is following fast in the footsteps of GSA co=opted by Libs and looser adults that are in it for their own self esteem rather than to help the boys. Too many rules, too much PC, not enough common sense.

dmize, Says you did a lot right in rearing the lad. I sure hope you are as proud of him as I am (both for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and declining the letter).
I admit a soft spot for Eagle Scouts. My Dad became an Eagle Scout in 1951 and will receive the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award in May, a rather rare event. He will be the second from this district, ever.
I am pretty proud of him, too.

Fabtastic!!! An Eagle is always a family event/process....from Cubs to Eagle Palms. Congrats to you and your son. I wish I'd gone thru to Eagle. My son made it and I was honored to share the process with him. BTW....great lesson(s) for your son. It sounds like he gets it and that's enough right there to make a dad bust his buttons with pride!
