Go ahead, call me irreverent if you want but that is okay with me. By the time I got this Colt NF from Mike Barranti it had already been reworked by Jim Stroh and the acp cylinder fit by Alan Harton. According to Fermin, the original owner, Jim converted it to 45 Colt, did the new sight, Alan fit the 45 ACP cylinder then Scott Kolar did the sheep horn grips. I find the bisley hammer much easier to reach for my stubby, been broken thumb, so I sent the gun back to Alan and he did a bisley spur graft job for me like he did on my FA. This one was a little bit trickier but the CCW finish made the final product turn out great. When I opened the box the first thing I thought of was pictures of some of Elmer Keiths guns with the modified bisley hammers. I think I am glad my son passed on this one for his deployment gift.

Gentlemen, Fermin corrected me on the history of this gun. Jim Stroh did the conversion work and Alan fit the acp cylinder and the bisley spur. I wanted to make sure Jim was credited for his fine work so I amended the original post to reflect this.
Thanks for the neat comments but most of the creative credit goes to 2 Dogs. He is the one who started the project some time in the past. I am just the current caretaker and steward of this fine piece.

That horn looks perfect. Just the right amount of bark.
