FINALLY! I have been looking for a good OM SBH for a couple of years now and finally found one locally. Made in '73, last year of the old models, and has the high polish shiney finish. Its absolutely perfect, not a mark or turn ring to be found. Got the manual and original receipt, but sadly, no box. Cant wait to shoot it!! And 1 shot, just as a tribute to one of our own......

Nice one! Based on the scars on that boot toe you'd better tie a lanyard to that SBH.. Beware the SBH pit... You'll find youself wanting 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 digit, and dash serial number versions. Then a long frame, a 6 1/2 inch barrel, a Brassie, and mahogany cased guns.. Then you'll want/need well worn versions of the common ones to make 5.5 and 4 5/8 inch customs... All that will be holding you back is $$$$$...

Looks like an excellent find! I assume it hasn't been converted? One of these days, I hope to land an OM myself...one of the '59 10" barrel guns. I know one is waiting for me out there somewhere.

Don't listen to Axe! If you do you are listening to a guy with no internal brake pads on his gun habit! A guy can be perfectly content with a few fine examples of guns just like yours and never jump into the numbers or custom revovler game.

Hey Now! I have not started a custom project in MONTHS! None of those nice stock Rugers laying around either. I am just a sad old gun poor poop pumper molding away under 8" of rain in the last 72 hours!

You 2 are hilarious! Quite a few pots and kettles around here it seems! Besides I'm just a poor ole Jawja mechanic...poop pumper would be an upgrade around here at times! I aint even tryin to keep up with some of yall, just learning and being jealous is all. And shooting, lots and lots of shooting... Charger- it has not been converted, still pure OM. The original owner guessed he had fired less than 60 rounds through it since buying it in '73. That aint gonna happen in my possesion, its going afield tomorrow!

Hey Charger,
There was one on GunBroker several months ago and I do not think it sold. There is a 10" .357 FT on there now. Take a look...........(I love spending other folks' cash!)

I assume it hasn't been converted? That is correct. The presence of a "wide spur" hammer is the clue. Ruger's never produced a conversion kit hammer with a wide spur. Carl tas6691, Nice one! A buddy scored a similar package a few years ago. However, it was a two digit serial number and came with the Mahogany Case. Me? Never, ever do I have such luck!

Those OM Supers looked so classy. Ruger really polished the hell of them before bluing and the result was an exceptionally bright finish. -Lee www.singleactions.com

My Super Collecting buddy has more! Look at this "two digit" example.. and it's one of the very scarce "Long Frame" versions. Carl
