Well John, let's just say your 500 Max served for inspiration on mine. And I agree, Ron is a great guy. He usually has my guns back in less than 3 weeks. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Question: I assume it is easy to download this monster to milder levels? Like middle to upper 500 Linebaugh? Yep. In fact, 12.0 of Unique will put 440's at 900 fps. Haven't tried the load yet (and probably never will), but it should be pleasant to shoot. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Wasn't painful to shoot at all.....after 50 rounds my hands felt fine. In fact, I wish I had another 50 to work with last Saturday. There seems to be a lot of hype and exaggeration surrounding the 500 Max (or maybe I'm just immune to big recoil). With a little focus and a firm grip it's quite manageable. It does come back fast but never once got close to my forehead. -Lee www.singleactions.comIt's got to be more pleasant and fun than those bullets at 1,600 fps! LOL! Can't wait to get mine in my hands! I think I will hunt the whole year with just that revolver -- we'll see.

440 grainers at 900 are about my speed. Nice to know the added horsepower is there if you need it. Still 80% certain my max will become a 445. These monster 500's peaked my interest though.

I've heard that unlike H110, you can mid-level with AA1680. I don't plan to back off the throttle with mine, so it's a moot point. If I were though I'd probably go with Blue Dot or HS6. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I have heard the same, but intend to run it a bit hotter. I have a .500 Linebaugh for Linebaugh velocities.....now, I'm not advocating proof-type loads, but I think we can get to comfortable levels that exceed the .500 L but that don't abuse the shooter too much (a little abuse is okay! ;D).

Yep. I think the 38.0 grain load with 525's is exactly what we're after. Haven't chrono'd it yet but if it comes in at 1,300 - 1,350 fps, that's the only load my Max will ever see. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Same with me -- as long as it's accurate. Then, I'm going hunting!

JH recommended Accurate #7 for those 1K fps loads for me, however I failed to transfer the data when I took my loading record all electronic. It may be in a book somewhere.
