My take is that if a fellow wants a NEW short cylinder BFR, he should probably buy it ASAP...

$1400 sounds painful but sitting here holding a few standard BFRs and understanding how well they are put together I most likely need a custom shop BFR for my "set." As luck would have it I'm holding a 500 JRH that will ease that itch long enough for me to find a deal... I'm in the same boat as axe, I liked the sound of the .500JRH so I had one built on a 83. Having a Freedom Arms .500JRH gives me the ability to wait for the BFR's to come to me, I most likely will have one, even if they discontinue the BFR one can always be customized from a smaller caliber. Until then I will live with this one.

Jack sure did an exceptional job on that FA 500 JRH. While we are all sure that he did the 500JRH cylinder on my 500WE FA I'm really going to have to get him to make me a full up custom 500 JRH on a FA.

If they don't sell, they won't be mfg anymore - regardless of the reason. No company produces products that they aren't selling. Kind of like the economy in general. If nobody buys anything, nobody has any money to buy anything. I hope you are right though. Despite all of the trouble I have had with my .475, I still think they should keep making these things (well).
