Anyone seen these ship yet? I heard it is now a standard catalog item.

Yup. I know a couple of folks who have them now. Mine is a Precision Center gun, but I have shot a couple of the regular production guns and they shot really well.

Thanks Whitworth. Funny thing is none of the dealers list them and I haven't seen any on the auctions sites.

You can buy direct from MR, but they are $1050. No dealers have them. I wanted one, but settled for a .475

I'm waiting for the better prices that come with in stock, I love my BFRs and I would really like one in 500JRH, but when they sell for over a grand for there production gun with rubber grips I start looking at used 83s. I'm hopeful dealers will have the 5.5" 500JRH soon.

I'm sure the prices will come down, but they are still a lot of bang for the buck IMHO. I haven't laid hands on a revolver that is more accurate than my BFR in .500 JRH. It's scary accurate. My buddy shot this three-shot group with mine at 50 yards.

I think Kahr Arms is pinching pennies at MR since they bought them..... my .475 was even hard to find.

While not the $600 of CDNN a year ago, the 50AEs are still on Gunbroker for $700, add $200 for the JRH cylinder and you have a convertible for $900. How much have new BFRs been the past year or two? $750-800?

How much have new BFRs been the past year or two? $750-800? You spend $700 for the short 6.5" .50AE (which has a 7" barrel) add $25 for shipping and $25 for paperwork then you next day air the gun to MRI say for $100 have a $190 cylinder added, they ship the gun back to you for $40 now you have a rubber gripped long barrel BFR in 500JRH for the bargain price of $1080. Cheaper just to order the 5.5" 500JRH unless you wanted the the extra 50AE cylinder.

I'm thinking that my best opportunity to acquire a 500 JRH BFR will be when the owners of the new 500 JRH BFRs shoot them and realize that they are much more gun than they realized.

Wandered over to GunsAmerica and GunBroker... May be imagining things but I believe that I see significantly more short cylinder BFRs than I am accustomed to seeing.

Go with Axe's plan or just dig a little deeper for the $1400 precision center version.
$1050 or $1400. What's another $350 for one that's hand built?

$1400 sounds painful but sitting here holding a few standard BFRs and understanding how well they are put together I most likely need a custom shop BFR for my "set." As luck would have it I'm holding a 500 JRH that will ease that itch long enough for me to find a deal...

Well, I don't count the 50AEs, so I see less than what I can count on one hand. No 454s, 475s, and definitely no 500jrhs. Couple overpriced DM guns and a .44mag 5" (why do they only offer 5"?). Looks a lot like nothing to me...
