450 Bonecrusher @ 25 yards off the bench. The first 3 shots almost went in the same hole....then I let the gun down and walked #4 and #5. The load was 38.0 of H110 with a 350 grain LaserCast. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Nice Work, Lee! What grip frame is that? It's a Super Blackhawk backstrap (square trigger guard). I don't usually use rubber grips, but at that recoil level I like cushion. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Is there any leading with that bevel base? I always assumed that the bevel bases were for mild loads only and would lead to cutting of the boolit and leading.

I know the theories behind bevel base and leading at high velocity. Hasn't been a problem with this Oregon Trail slug though. They claim their silver bearing alloy is the difference and it seems to hold. Granted, most folks shoot these at Cowboy Action speeds in 45-70s (up to 1,500 fps). That said, this bullet is the most accurate in my 450, even at 1,700 fps. Again, no leading. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I recalled you weren't a rubber and plastic guy. Made me curious. It sure looks nice, and shoots well to boot. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Lee, for some reason my computer won't open pdf files lately. I tried to read up on the Bonecrusher, but couldn't get into the article. Can you remind me what parent case this uses?
Thanks, Lee. I read before that this is a passionate hobby with you and you don't make guns for anyone but you and your Dad, but I really think you could make some money selling your creations. Top notch work.

I not Lee but I believe its the 500Linebaugh, I really like the project and am having a 455GNR made up, which is a 475Linebaugh necked to .452. Gary says it matches top end 454 loads without the recoil or pressure.

Bigbores is right. The parent case is a 500 Linebaugh necked to 0.458". Minimal body taper, short neck, and a 30 degree shoulder. I've been shooting the round since 2003 and case setback hasn't been a problem. With a full charge of H110, it'll send 350 grain bullets to 1,700 fps from an 8" tube. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I'll bet it kicks more than a "little!" Hey, you said the same thing about your .450 Ackley -- I shot your .450 Ackley and I'm still paying for it! ;D ;D
