Is that a bevel on the front of that cylinder? I like it, nice subtle touch.

Definite bevel on the Max that came from Fermin. Looks like a bevel on the Gallagher 445 too doesn't it. I may send the box stock Max to Reeder to be converted to a 375 SM... Since the 414 brass at Starline dried up I'm not as fired up about the 414 as I once was. Need to find some 375 SM dies.

Does the 375 GNR need to be on a 5 shot gun? I'm thinking 6 shot 375 SM

The 375GNR is the .445SM case necked to 375, so I would think it could be built on a six-shot cylinder if one keep pressures down but you would have to ask Gary, Ive only seen this round in 5-shots.

I've got the question posted.. We will have an answer soon! The 414 and 445 work on a six shot but the 375 GNR is the 445 necked to 375. It might be to much. I'd hate to handicap the cartridge if it needs to be a 5 shot to stretch it's legs.. Perhaps a 5 shot Wyoming Hunter with about 8 inches of barrel... Might ping Alan Harton to see what he thinks too.. I do need a full house Harton gun in the "set"

The 375 GNR is stout, but you won't be under-gunned with the old 375 SuperMag. Flat shooting, hits hard, and mild recoil. That's not to mention accuracy....I've yet to work with a 375 SM that wouldn't tear ragged little holes. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Reeder says that he doesn't have a 375 SM reamer... FWIW The 375 GNR is the 445 necked to 375. Gary adds that the 375 GNR can work in a 6 shot Maximum cylinder but you need stay away from the top loads. Although I am well past the proof load phase of my life, my current thoughts are that the few hundred dollars extra for the 5 shot conversion might be well spent just for the extra safety margin.

AxeHandle, That is a beauty. You sure have great taste in SAs. My Max is stock....but it is a very accurate shooter.
