Being a good parent is the hardest job in the world. Thank You for doing a good job of it. I'm tired of seeing little screamin' mimi's running thru stores and making scenes in restaurants. These little animals grow up into adults that still do not know how to behave. Hope you son makes a fast and complete recovery. steve b

Wow, that's some wreck. I'm glad your son is ok. I know I put my Dad through the wringer because of my driving when I was a teenager.
And now that I have kids, I know what my Dad must have gone through with me and my siblings. Just like Robb said above. I feel guilty when I'm not there to make it ok and to protect them.
Prayers and good thoughts for a continued speedy recovery.

That's great that he's so well. He's lucky to have you as his father!

He was riding home with his boss in an 02 Super Duty 4 door pulling a Bobcat. I and the State Trooper that investigated agree,he was going too fast lost control and rolled the truck twice,Randy was ejected thru the back window. FIRST time I am aware of him not wearing a seat belt. I have to stop, because I am getting too mad.... ANYWAY the patriotic back brace is for a compression fractured L5 and a broken pelvis, the brace or right leg is for pinned femur, the adduction pillow if for the broken pelvis. He also has an internal fixator in pelvis that will be removed in about 2 months. God was on his side he was missed by a truck a trailer and a bobcat. It is a "difficult" time. Is really odd for his little brother and I to go fishing and hunting with out our buddy. But we will have next year, unlike a local 22 year old that was killed in a tractor accident Saturday night. Thank you all for comments concern and prayer.

Prayers sent. He's going to busy getting everything on the right path to a recovery, but it is doable. Keep working on that already great relationship.
I put my folks through hell driving fast and being stupid. I got burned pretty bad on my hands and face the summer before my Sophomore year of high school. I couldn't bath myself for a month. Dad took care of me, and at a time where you sure don't like being naked in front of anyone, much less a parent.
Sounds like you are the kind of dad to take care of him like mine did for me. Your son and I are both fortunate for our fathers. I hope to measure up when my time comes.

Hey Daryll those are some fancy wood screws! Glad to hear (and see) Randy is still on the high road to recovery. Just amazes me what can be done to heal the human body today. Good luck and God Bless.

The other day I was thinking about my Dad (who passed 2 years ago) and how much he loved us kids. Then I remembered the head-on collision we survived together in 1976, when I was just 16. The state trooper said we wouldn't have made it if my Dad had been driving because his reflexes would have been slower than mine.
I almost got by that drunken SOB, but he swerved sharply into us right at the last second.
Then I finally (after all these years) put myself in his shoes, when he picked himself up in the back of the van amidst all the broken glass, and looked up and saw me slumped over the steering wheel. He thought I was dead, and I didn't answer him until he said my name 2 or 3 times.
And I got seriously choked up thinking of the sheer hell he must have endured for those few seconds when I didn't answer him. I can't imagine it, and I never want to have to endure something like that. Ever.
God bless you guys. Make this a great Christmas together.
