$170 and outbid on a 6 inch 44 barrel? Dag nab it! I'd pay more but am not up to speed on the value of these things. When Kings6 gave me 8 3/8 41 and 6 inch 45 ribbed S&W barrels and then I bought a GunBroker 6 inch 41 for mere pennies it kind of spoiled me.. What is the going rate for thse things?

Not sure what the going rate is, but I just can't get used to the look on a single-action. Maybe if you guys post some pictures I'll be swayed....I have a couple of S&W stainless barrels (both 6"....one 41, one 44). -Lee www.singleactions.com

I paid 125 for an 8 3/8 629 barrel, and I thieved me a Model 29 6" barrel with pulled threads for $69. (this is the one i would just as soon rebore than try to buy a 45 barrel) (both on GB) Maybe if you guys post some pictures I'll be swayed.... I smell a challenge!

I think one of Kings6's tuti fruiti guns has a S&W barrel... To bad he can't find his camera.. FWIW Stay away from Bowen's web site... He has pics of Single Sixes and Blackhawks with S&W barrels posted.... They are Baaaaaaaaaaaad....

They're definitely not cheap, I lucked out on a model 29 the gunsmith at work pulled due to some kind of damage, he said it wouldn't affect what I am going to use it for and got it for $25, (I think he said it had a bad foricng cone)

Taffin has some sixguns with barrels like that, and they look NICE. I needs ta git me one!
(but if THAT's what they cost, I probably never will!)

In the past couple of months I have given $35 for a blued 8 3/8" 45 Colt barrel and $140 for a pair, one a 657 and one a 629, both 8 3/8". I too, am not a fan of ribbed barrels on SA's. These are for future DA projects.
