For the past 9(10?) months I have been less than gainfully employed. I have supplanted my meager on again / off again body shop technician wages with logging "cedar" trees off my family farm to a sawmill and, as many of you know, selling some of my sixgun collection.
I got the job I want, at the rate I want, and 8 minutes from my house. I am 32 years old, and I am hoping and praying that I can retire at the company that I go to work for on the 5th.
I have been calling a few smiths this week, letting them know that they can kick the chocks out from under my project wheels.
A taste of what is to come:
500 Linebaugh Brass Bisley flattop with a rebored N-Frame barrel from Huntington
Old Model 45 Colt Number 5 from Huntington
New Model 44 Special Number 5 from Harton
1911 10mm Bobtail Commander
1911 45 bobtail commander
1911 45 CCO
10/22 tricked out (i had to sell BOTH of my other ones)
A series of wildcats on the TC encore platform based on the 45-100 case (.308, .338, .375, .416)
CCH & stainless 32 H&R on an old model single six.
Maybe I'm ambitious and and about half crazy, but I know what I like and what I want.
Thats why my first priority is:
As soon as that first steady paycheck hits, I'm going ring shopping. Been keeping my liquid assets high waiting till I didn't have to have them to live on for the next month.
I'd like to say thank you to all who managed to tag me onto their prayers during this rough time.
I'd also like to say "not this time" to everyone who asked about the Clements pair. Apparently I am not the only one who believes they are the pinnacle of the maker's art. Thank you.
Got about 4K of guns on deck to sell. Some are already spoken for. If a fella wanted a Dan Wesson 1911 in .40 S&W and didn't mind bead blasting it himself, he oughta send me a PM.
