Ruger has used an inbetween size for the Single Six since, from what I understand, serial number 150,000. That was a l-o-n-g time ago. One of the numbers guys will be here soon and post the actual groove diameters. A little larger than the ideal 22LR barrel and a little smaller than the ideal 22 Mag barrel...

Bore diameter on the SS can vary between .220 and .230, as per Ruger. Anything in that mix is "in spec". Had my 3 screw SS out today... now THAT is a 22! No fiber optics, just a well defined and serrated front and a well thought out drift adjustable rear... course, if ya plan on missin a lot, those extra 5 rounds are handy...

Axe means rather than a middle of the road .22 / .22Mag. compromise.

Other than the weird sights, this looks like a winner. It is already on my Christmas list.

I've got one on the way, and it comes at a good time as I've had a really renewed interest in .22 LR. Mostly because of the Ruger Rimfire matches.

Yep, moved back to Prescott about 18 months ago. I was at Gunsite, in December. I thought I saw you there when Ruger was showing the Scout and SR1911. I was rather harried (Wife's new truck got a flat on the way there) or I would have shook your hand then. PM sent

At first I had no interest in this. But considering how much I shoot my Single-Six, 10 shots would cut down on the number of reloads per outing (I usually shoot 300 rounds when I get my Single-Six to the range. 30 reloads compared to 50 would save some time). -Lee www.singleactions.com

I like it! Then again, I'm partial to hi-cap single actions.

A 7 1/2" or longer barrel would be a nice touch.

A 7 1/2" or longer barrel would be a nice touch. 7.5" bisley hunter to save me from the invading prairie dogs would trip my trigger.
