Alan sent me completed pictures of my 44 special, I thought I'd share . He has been great to work with and as you all know by two dogs posts he does great work. . It started out as an old model Ruger flat top born in 1956. Turnbull did the CCH Alan did all the metal work and the high polish blue and we used a Clements bisley trigger. Alan also made the grips from some figured walnut he picked out for me Mike

That's very nice, I like the short barrel. It seems like most prefer the 5 & 1/2 in. barrels. I'm really liking the octagon barrels I'm seeing lately. I'm trying to recover from two recent 1911 builds before I jump off into a Six-Gun. I don't know how much longer I can hold out since the Jedi hand waver is posting all those pictures.

I really like seeing Alan's finished work. Means he's just that much closer getting to mine ;D
Alan does incredible work in all phases of gunsmithing. I really like the grip panels. Fantastic.
Send range report.

Thanks everyone, I can't take much credit though. I just gave Alan my list of wants and he crafted them into this gun. I do like how the 4 5/8" barrel turned out, I wanted to retain some of the original Ruger look .
Lee, this project was started before Ron came out with his # 5 grip frame. I spoke with Ron today and one of his grip frames is on the way for my Lipseys 44 special. I'm going to do a low budget version of this gun. I have not spoken with Alan yet but I will probably collect the bits and pieces and then send it off for fitting and finishes.

robster Has your 44 arrived yet? This gun will see mostly Skeeter loads, I want an easy shooting load that won't bite back. Mike
