I’d be interested in a 32 H&R w/Adj Sights, plain finish (not the tiger striping). I have S&W 396 Ti Mtn Pistol in .44 Special -- at 18oz, recoil can a bit unpleasant – under 16oz might be too much of a good thing.

Yeah - a lightweight .32 Mag single action with target sights is really tempting. If Gunblast needs a tester for that configuration, I'll happily help out!

Yeah the 32 Mag caught my eye as well. Could be really interesting.

The 44 Spl made me sit up and take notice, but I have it on good authority that there are...problems. Still, I hope Jeff can get a test gun.

For that matter, why not a 22 lr?

How does one go about making a 16oz 44 Special and get away with an unfluted cylinder?? I mean the lightest Ruger, BN44 in 4 5/8, is advertised at 39oz. You could remove the grip frame and cylinder and still be heavier I think

Possibly aluminum (or other light weight alloy) cylinder with steel liners?? this thread caught my attention as well.
Boge, can you be more specific about the "problems" without being disparaging to the company?

Justin It's not a matter of disparaging the company - I just can't betray the confidence of another shooter, who entrusted me with his experience. I have asked Jeff to see if he can get a test gun so we'll know what's going on. I hope these are great sixguns, and that the company does very well.

These certainly could be the king of carry a lot/ shoot very little working single action sixguns.
I want to know what power levels of 44 special it would allow for. I know the Smith Scandium 324 only allow reasonably low pressure 200gr or less bullets. I certainly dont think it would have to (or would I want to) run full Keith loads in the gun but a 250gr bullet at 850-1000fps would be in order for a working class 44sp in my opinion.
I potential is interesting for sure...

Just a little insight into large caliber, light weight handguns.
My carry load for the above mentioned 3” S&W 396 (18 oz) is an LBT 260gr WFNGC at an actual chronoed 1,020 fps. That load can be described as unpleasant– more unpleasant that full house .44 Mags in a 329PD. If I remember correctly, Lloyd Smale also had a 396 and he was shooting the “Keith” load with the factory Hogue Bantam grips – he mentioned something about drawing blood. In his Handgunner article on the .44 Special, Brian Pearce included the 396 in the “less than or equal to 25,000 psi” category, capable of handling the “Keith” load (250gr at @ 1,200 fps).
Where I was going with this is that even a 250gr at 900 fps will generate a lot of recoil in an under 16oz handgun.
Oh, and as Fowler suggested, this is a carry a lot, shoot a little gun.

Just got off the phone with Kerry and got a few specs. The Dragonfly is made almost completely of 7075T6 aluminum. The cylinder is titanium and the barrel has a thin steel liner. Of course the hammer and pins are steel as well. He said that they are still basically a prototype and they have only made about 9 so far. The final fit and tune is taking right at 20 hours, and he is trying to get that down.
The Dragon Slayer is all steel and the weight is simmilar to a custom Ruger. There are 3 frame sizes on the Dragon Slayer to accomodate up to the 500 Smith.
I invited him to join here and post more detailed information. Once the bugs are worked out I will have to have one, especially if they offer a 45 Colt, even if it has to have a steel barrel and weighs a bit more.

Less than 16 ounces? I think the operative word here is "OW!"

Yeah, I could got .327, but I wonder if pressures are too high for their frames?

Not sure about the frame & pressures? I hope gun goes into production & does well. I'm going to be waiting for someone to get one to test. Frank
