This is one of my favorites I had commissioned. I picked all the features so it was what I wanted at the time. I am very pleased with everything about it. I think Reeder's 5-shot conversions are the best he does. Can't remember the price but I think it was about $1800 and my old .357. He let me throw some guns in on trade and pay as I went. Turn around was close to 4 months. Shot a Bison with it, a couple sheep, and carried it to AK. Felt real comforting walking out after having a close (20 ft.) Grizzly (two of them) scare! They wanted me to leave, so I did. BTW - Harton is doing some work for me now. Need to check, been about a year and a half. Maybe he lost it. lol.

Actually I reall stewed on that. I have a smaller framed #5 in .44 Spec. that has a 6". The 5.5" just seemed a little too "in-th-middle" and kinda clubby. The 6" worked out perfectly in that gun. This .510 is on a late .357 "big" Ruger BH chassis so I went 6.5" on it to maintain the proportions.
On this frame the 6.5 is a really nice length. I actually prefer longer barrels for actual hunting as a primary weapon but 7.5" can be a little long for more general use sometimes. Of course I have plenty of long and short rev. A 4-5/8" 5-shot .475 LB complements this .510 when I want a more compact back up. It is extremely accurate too, in fact I've killed TX hog with it.
Since I went the $500 octagon option I opted out on stags ($250 premium). I wanted a warmer look than Corian or Micarta, the Cherry Laminate was nice without being too flamboyant (for me anyway).

Anyone have two tone going the other way? Stainless frame and blued barrel or cylinder. ....but it isn't two-tone anymore. The barrel and cylinder just got back from being hard-chromed (the match to the stainless frame is really good). I'll post updated pictures once I get a new front sight built (decided to go with a taller post-style). -Lee www.singleactions.com

I have always loved that gun, Robb. I also like this one, which I think is yours as well. Aren't these in 41 Special? Gorgeous in any caliber.
