Mark, your assessment was spot on. The cylinder is 2nd generation, and the barrel is a later 1st or early 2nd generation. The stocks are the Franzite that was so popular in the 1950s thanks to the "B" westerns. Looks like you still have the original hammer, though. Overall it looks darned good for the price!

Update: I'd said the trigger was hard and even after adding a leather washer between the main spring and trigger guard, it was still "white knuckle" hard. So, I sent it off to Nutmeg after talking to Jim Alaimo (I was strongly influenced by Mr. Taffin's "Born Again Bisley"). Nutmeg's promised turn around was two weeks. I sent the gun out Thursday last week and it was delivered Friday. My phone rings Saturday and Jim tells me that the hammer, although original, is damaged beyond repair and would need to be replaced. Arrangements for payment was made. Yep, he works on Saturday, too. I received the gun back today (five days since I sent it) with the old hammer and springs. Absolutely the smoothest action I own and a trigger that breaks like a glass rod. Shoots pretty good, too.
