About 30 years ago, a Marine friend of mine and I would shoot black walnuts off the trees in my in-laws back yard with his Smith and Wesson Model 41. It was uncanny how easy it was to hit the inch and a half nuts off-hand sitting in folding chairs. Whenever I tell this story, everybody has their own story about these guns relating to how accurate and easy to shoot accurately they tend to be. The guy that I pried this one away from told me he and his friends got into trouble with his Mom for shooting all the clothes pins off her clothes line (remember those?). Big trouble when they shot the clothes line in two. I'm proud of it and thought you guys would appreciate it (now you can tell your story).

Reminds me of the 2 or 3 I have had over the years and foolishly traded off.
Something else to add to the wish list

M41 fan for many years. Owned this one for 27. Wears Herrett trainer grips and one of Gil Hebard's Burris bullseye scopes. I've got a few extra barrels too. One 7 3/8 inch with the Cutts compensator, one 7 inch with a Bomar rear sight and a third 7 inch with a full length Bomar rib..

Nice Axe (and by the way, glad you survived the weather last week),
I got a Redfield mount and a red dot sight with mine along with some brand of target grips (looks like they could be Herrett's but are unmarked as far as I can tell).
The Redfield mount seems to require replacement of the right side grip - I'm not sure and haven't looked too closely. The mount is laying on the steps leading up stairs and I see it several times a day. I keep thinking how wrong this seems to be.
I'll get some pictures of the grips in case you can identify them.

I had some some Vitarbo grips at one time. The scope standard mount was always the weaver base. Of course in todays market I'd never D&T an original 40ish year old barrel... It was a different story in '84.
