Guys, these are octagon barrels made by John Gallagher which he and Hamilton Bowen use on 475 and 500 Linebaugh custom conversions. John is DONATING these barrels to be sold and all proceeds to go to John Linebaugh to help offset his medical expenses frm last weeks heart attack and by-pass surgery.
These are made from Douglas or Pac-Nor blanks and they are threaded with a long shank, an integral ERH lug and a front sight base. The 4 chrome moly 475 5 1/2" barrels and the 2 chrome moly 510 6 1/2" barrels are set up with the front sight ramp ready to be machined for a pinned front sight.
The one 475 5" barrel is is chrome moly and the front ramp on it can take a pinned sight, a dovetail sight or a Weigand DX blade. The one 510 5" barrel is stainless steel and set up for a pinned sight, dovetailed sight or the Weigand sight as well.
When these barrels are installed on a gun John and most of the custom guys get $800-$950 for these barrels so it is a great chance to pick up a barrel at a great discount for a future project and help one of the big bore revolver pioneers out at the same time. The shipped cost of these barrels is $275 and that is a steal.
I have commited to one of the 5 1/2" 475 barrels so that leaves three of these available. Let me know which barrel you want and where it gets shipped and you can make out your check to "John Linebaugh" and send it here and I will co-ordinate with John where the barrel goes once the payment is here. I will forward the payments on to John Taffin who has graciously agreed to serve as a final collection point.
John is also finishing up an old model 45 Colt for me that will have an extra 45 ACP cylinder, Bowen sight, steel ERH, Clements bisley spurred hammer, Powers steel two piece Colt style gripframe and nice wood grips. I have had this project down at Johns for awhile and he will be donating the barrels listed above and the grips on this gun and I will be placing the gun up for sale with all the proceeds going to help with John Linebaughs medical expenses as well.
Please PM me if you have any questions about the barrels. I will post the 45 up for sale as soon as John gets it finished.
Thanks,
Robb
Here are some pictures of guns that wear these same barrels.
thanks for the info..
