Was playing around with a few things today and realized I had this thing stuffed in the back of the safe almost a year now and haven't even taken its picture, let alone shoot it yet. All the hunting and recent slatwater boat have kept me preocupied. Anyway, I picked this up from Bowen last spring after he took it back in trade from a previous client. He went through the gun and checked everything out for any wear or tear, then refinished, sent off for case color and installed new sights. Turned out beautiful I think. Figure I needed to drool over my own photos while I try to decide whether to keep and shoot or ?? Around teh time I got the gun I got side tracked with our annual steelhead and brown bear trip that I never got around to rolling up loads for it. I still have all the brass and some nice boolits awaiting my attention.

I always waiver between aye and nay when it comes to flutes on the 5 shots. That one is definitely a aye! Looks great.

It almost a pretty as Norm's Blacktail takedown recurve it is resting on! I wasn't sure if it was a Brackenbury or a Blacktail until I saw the signature in the one picture. Norm is a hunting/shooting fool! ;D
Go shoot them both Will!

Very nice. I've committed to myself that I'll have one of those one day.
I don't know what it is about the barrel band and I can't tell you why it's so attractive and as far as I can tell has no real purpose, but I really like them.
Thanks for sharing.

The practical purpose of the barrel band is to provide a positive stop to keep the ejector housing from flying off under recoil. And it looks cool.
That is a beautiful revolver.

Wonder how long it takes for Bowen to do one in 550L?

That is one terrific looking gun! The only think I might change would be to take some of the curve out of the trigger. I also really like the recurve bow!
