I am a Blu Mag man, but I'd like to feel a pair of your Fishpaw's in a couple weeks.

I like the pancake style but with having had both shoulder joints replaced (joints disintegrated) a low slung holster was a serious consideration as I can't lift my shoulders high enough to draw quickly. Rob L to the rescue. With 3 belt slots his holsters can be worn cross draw. Perfect. Now the only problem is which gun gets leather first. Whenever someone asks about holsters on the 1911 forum I tell them about the Cuda and all the different ways it can be worn, including the Chesty Puller rig. I love when I catch them off guard with a product like Rob's. I have to remind them there are other single actions besides single action semiautos. They about went apoplectic when I suggested 255 gr WFN hardcast bullets for the 1911. They weren't familiar with the names John Taffin, Marshall Stanton or Veral Smith. Naturally, I had to relay what I learned here, like who makes a good quality holster for instance. ;D

"They about went apoplectic when I suggested 255 gr WFN hardcast bullets for the 1911." I used them in the 1990s to shoot pins. After JT's article on the XD and heavy bulletts the desire was re-innited for that heavy bullet 45 acp combo- particularly for moose and bear use.

Marshall Stanton posted a load using his 255 gr WFN over 7.0 gr of AA No. 5 for 950 fps out of a 5" 1911. That would make a good woods bumming / hunting load for the 1911. Sort of like the Buffalo Bore load with a wider meplat. I installed a FireDragon dual action recoil reducer in my Milspec to handle the added recoil. It works well.

Scott, I'll bring three Fishpaw begripped guns for you to shoot. The Fishpaw "Roper" has a different feel compared to the BluMagnum "Skeeter". Not night and day different, since they have similar bloodlines. The Fishpaws are longer legged and with skinnier waists...
... and Rob, I knew what he DIDN'T mean, but that was funny. -- Br.
