I have a safe queen M97 that needs to go on the block. It's an adj. sight .44 Special 5.5" with 2 factory options, 3.5# trigger & black micarta grips. Box, papers, etc. Not many 97's on the auction sites right now so hard to establish a price. I'm thinking $1450 shipped. Am I in the ball park? Also, where do you think would be the best place to list it?

I imagine you might be getting some PMs about it here. I think you are in the ball park. Used M97s are desirable items, but sometimes their prices will surprise you. I bought three of them two years ago and paid between $1200 shipped and $1375 shipped for all of them. When I listed them to raise book-writing money, guess what I eventually wound up with? Between $1200 and $1375. All three were short-barreled guns in .44 Special and .45 Colt - desirable configurations.
Anywho, I think you are on the right track. If it was mine, I'd try here and on Ruger Forum first before heading to an auction site.
What part of KY are you in? Any chance you are going to National Gun Day next month?

cubrock, Thanks for the info. National Gun Day? I've attended way more than I've missed, I used to be quite active there. Chances are we've met. Do you set up?
majorkap, We are to close for comfort. I'm in Harrison Co. I visit the 6 gunshops in Lex. a few times a year and never find any neat single actions. Then, I see a pic of your vault a few days back, and now I know where the're all going. Tell me about good shops in the Richmond, Irvin, Berea area. Don't worry, my buying power isn't real good right now, but i still like to look.
