I like the western end of the state. Used to spend a lot of time at LBL before we had a turkey season open anywhere else. I'm in Richmond, Madison County.....just south of Lexington.

We're about 40 minutes from the Lake. I come up to Lexington every August to the big Contempory Longrifle Association gun shot. It is awesome. Tom Black Cantucky PS While squirrel hunting this morning I counted 150 birds in my best friends creek bottoms. Couple doz. toms were all humped up and fanned out trying to impress the ladies.

.530" home cast ball, 80 grs. FFFG Goex, patch lubed with pure bear oil, 3 F in the pan. At 60 yds the ball passed completely through the lungs leaving a massive blood trail. He made it 35 yards before going down, field dressed 183 pounds. Don't want to start a riot but these inlines just aren't a primitive weapon no more than an ALD is a bow. Tom Black Cantucky Thomas, dude I'm on your side when the riot starts. I'm with you on the inlines not being a primitive weapon. Here is my flintlock. It's a early style Lehigh valley. Here is one of my caplocks. It's a .54 cal Tennessee and with a .535 RB and 110gr. of 2ffg Goex, it will literally put that ball all the way threw a dear when broad side. I shot one doe in the white spot on her chest and found the flattened ball under the skin of her right ham. So like I said in my earlier post, I feel no need for the new fangled stuff. Bill

Wickerbill, Very nice flintlock you have there. Who made it? My good friend Mike Miller out of Paducah has built all of mine. Below is my little 40 calibre North Carolina squirrel gunne. Tom Black

Wicker, Below is a pic of my 2008 buck that I killed with my 54 calibre Virginia style rifle. I was sitting on the ground with my back to a big whiteoak and he walked by me. I let him get past me and at 15 yards I busted his right shoulder he made it perhaps 40 yards before crashing. Nice 10 point that field dressed 185 pounds. You don't need an inline and camo top to bottom to kill a deer. Tom Black Cantucky
