When comparing the 500 Linebaugh and the 500 WE or JRH, ( the latter two are nearly identical in capacity) From a mechanical standpoint, what the WE/JRH does the Linebaugh will do with about 8000 pounds less chamber pressure. It is hard to believe with a difference of only .010 but that is what bore capacity buys you.

For all you guys looking at buying new .500 WE's, check out the prices of used .454's and Jack's (relatively) cheap conversions to .500 JRH. I came running out of the gate in the .500 Game: .500 Maximum by Jack Huntington. Not just my first .500, my first full custom. ![](http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo219/JWSAggie2001/500MAX.jpg) Then I slowed down to a David Clements masterpiece in 1.4" .500 S &W. I talked to David last month, and he says the pics of these I have posted around (and he has a small one on his website) are still generating questions for him. ![](http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo219/JWSAggie2001/ClementsPair/DSCN0972.jpg) Next planned is a NM flattop with a rebored N-Frame barrel and brass bisley gripframe by Huntington in .500 Linebaugh.

I didn't sit in study hall, read Ross Seyfried articles and dream about .500 WE's, 500 S&W's, 510 GNR's or .500 JRH. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) CAS, You are a man after my own heart. Put a Bisley in the mail today for this cause.

Just had a revelation! If a man only has one 500L then he only needs one 500L size die for his star! So even if I can't afford a gun maybe I could snag a couple of size dies?
