Several years ago, I purchased a 5.5 in. stainless Redhawk in .45 Colt from a local dealer. As sold NIB, the gun came only with Pachmayr Presentation stocks. I did not think much about it at the tme, but wonder now if Ruger ever issued these guns from the factory with the Pachy Presentations. I tend to think those were swapped by the dealer---or, if this gun had been a problem piece sent back to a distributor and then "recycled" to this dealer. The gun shop is part of a hardware store, and the sales people are not really handgun enthusiasts. A gun-savvy friend and I also had some difficulty zeroing the factory sights using various .45 factory cartridges; have to jack the sights all the way to one side to get a decent group I'd feel comfortable shooting at a deer. Any experience to share here would be appreciated.

Redhawks have never been offered with factory Pachmayr presentation grips. Until the 4" guns, which come with Hogue Bantams, they have always been offered with the wooden stocks.
I can't help with the "sight all the way to one side" problem. Sometimes guns have to have the barrel tightened just a bit (if shooting left) or loosened (if shooting right). I have never seen that on a Redhawk.
My 45 Redhawk had to have the chamber throats opened up to .4525 as they were tight and all different sized.
