You guys might remember the vaquero Boxhead put up for sale here before the classifieds came down. It had the throats opened up by Bowen then Box sent it to Clements for removal of the warning label, Davids post front sight, free spin pawl, steel ERH with crescent head ER, locking basepin and finally David installed his neat S&W style adjustable rear sight which he blends into the top strap very neatly. Once I bought it from Ed I sent it off to Andy Horvath and he fit the bisley gripframe with the Ajax "stag" grips, converted the hammer and trigger to the proper bisley parts and retimed the action and smoothed everything back out for the new innards. Along the way it also lost the Ruger "CCH" finish and got totally reblued. If I didn't have Ben Forkin wrapping up this guns twin except for an octagon barrel I'd stick this one in the safe but it will probably head down the road for someone else to enjoy. I thought I'd let you guys see it first then I'll let you know when it pops up on the RF in their classifieds.

Gee, that is nice. I've been avoiding a true custom for a long time.
It's getting harder to do.

You are going to have to get over that "duplicate gun" fobia... It is really okay to have duplicates...

Hasn't popped up on the Ruger Forum classifieds yet.... I'm thinking that a behind the scenes/under the table deal may have happened!

Nope, it is still here. It is just that the oldest son, the AF pilot, made it back to the home place with his truck and trailer as he moves from TX to WA. We've been busy working his cargo trailer over and getting a place set up for his 2 dogs to live here until his wife finishes her advanced chopper training in NM and gets move to Spokane as well. I need to take some pictures of it with factory grips as well as Tru-Ivory grips to see which I want to post it with. What I really want to do is find someone with a Marlin Cowboy rifle in 41 Mag to swap it into. We will let stuff settle down after this next hectic week and see where it goes.

Dang! Had to re-read that one... For a minute there it looked like "2 Dogs" was moving in... ;D ;D I'm holding a NM 44 mag cylinder hostage here that, after being rechambered a tight 45 Colt, could make that gun the beast it could be!

We may need to make a "Send Us A Note Before You Post It" List....
