I am REALLY conflicted over this one - I WANT to shoot it, and since I handled it with the stock on it I REALLY want to shoot it. I can't believe how well it handles! But part of me hates to shoot it - I've never been one for Safe Queens, but I've never had anything this special before.
Except SS6, and it had seven thousand rounds through it before I got it, so shooting it wasn't an issue!

Did Grover do his own finishing / case coloring? The case colors are wonderful.

It was made to be shot. You REALLY wanna shoot it. To kill a deer with it...well as a hunter I just can't imagine not doing it. I would be nervous about banging that stock around...beautiful chunk of wood.
Thanks for sharing all the great pics... I love the 22. Beautiful lines and a graceful hammer.

Just wrap the stock in camo tape to protect the wood and you'll be fine.

I am stunned. That is one fine piece of craftsmanship there!
I think that gun deserves and needs to be fired. It just seems wrong for it to sit there and not be used as Mr Grover would have wanted. I think "I" would hunt with it, although I would be careful about how and where, I would probably hunt with it.
No matter what you decide, that is a fine set that would be the center piece of anyone's collection regardless of size. I am thrilled to be able to view these pieces and learn about them, and glad you have shared them with us.

Boge, thanks for sharing those beautiful guns. I have been privelaged to handle & shoot one a friend has a few years ago it's a great gun. That is a superb collection, The wood Bill used is as good as the guns too. Thanks for sharing. I think I'd have to shoot it. Frank
PS: Boge, I'm really happy for you that they are with someone who appreciates them & is willing to share pictures & the how of how they came to be with you. Congratulations. FV

Dang Boge, as long as you don't mind the value of it plummeting the moment you pull the trigger, why not shoot it?
If you bought it for an investment you can't shoot it. If you didn't, you already know the answer. What do you think all of your new Grover's with all their single number/triple digit serial numbers would mean to a serious collector, en masse?
And how much less would they all be worth if you shoot them a few dozen times? My choice would be easy. I have never had enough money to buy guns I couldn't afford to shoot. You seem to have a whole safe full though, so your decision looks a little tougher.

Yes, it is. I've never been one to NOT shoot my sixguns, though, so I imagine I'll succumb eventually. If I ever do shoot it, I won't shoot it much!
I may take it to the Shootist Holiday next year and let Taffin do the honors, if he's able to make the trip.
