For you guys who are curious as to what could make me sell-off some of my prize guns - my purchase is on its way, so I guess I can't jinx the deal........


Three VERY special Texas Longhorn Arms cased sixguns, all unfired!

First is a matched pair of Texas Army sixguns, a 22 (S/N 222 - it's the one with the lacquered stocks) and a 45 (S/N 555) - the 22 is the only Texas Army 22 made - there are three known TLA 22s: this one, a #5, and a 22 Magnum Flattop Target.



And if THAT ain't enough - a 16" Texas Army 45 with detachable shoulder stock (S/N 666), the only shoulder-stocked gun Grover made. Words cannot express how excited I am about this one!



All these sixguns were ordered from Grover as a set by a guy in Arizona, and there were several more ordered by him at the same time, all with triple-same-digit serial numbers. He sold off three of them a few years ago, and it turns out I already have one of them - cased Border Special #333. Here's a pic of my matching Border Special:


Basically what he ordered was:

#222 - 22 LR Texas Army, 5-1/2" barrel, unfired, CCH frame, cased as a pair with #555 (it's coming home to me!)
#333 - 45 Colt Border Special (birdshead), 3-1/2" barrel, CCH frame, cased (I own it already, it's mint but no longer unfired!)
#444 - 44 Special Texas Army, 4-3/4" barrel, CCH frame, cased (Cubrock owns it)
#555 - 45 Colt Texas Army, 5-1/2" barrel, unfired, CCH frame, cased as a pair with #222 (it's coming home to me!)
#666 - 45 Colt Texas Army, 16" barrel w/ detachable shoulder stock, unfired, CCH frame, cased (it's coming home to me!)
#777 - 45 Colt Texas Army, 7-1/2" barrel, CCH frame, cased (whereabouts unknown)
#888 - 45 Colt Texas Army, 5-1/2" barrel, unfired, blue/nickel finish, cased (he still has this one and wants to sell, but I'm tapped out)

God is good to me! Now if I can just raise the rest of the money...

Boge saved me from temptation beyond imagining by buying these. He was contacted first by the former owner, then I was. It was so nice to hear him say "I'm going to get 'em." I slept easily that night!

I bet it hurt to leave 888 behind. I'd like to see how those guns are put together without any screws to hold the trigger and bolt and hammer. Maybe you could take one of your heirloom-quality guns apart and photograph it and post it here just to satisfy my idle curiosity.

They have screws, three of them in fact, much like other single-actions. It's just that the opposite side is not threaded completely through, as is pictured here in Boge's very gun, afore it was his'n.

KAP, I do appreciate your selling that Border Special - and to think it seemed like a lot of money then! Now some of her sisters are coming home. Seemed like it was meant to be. All that's left now is raising the money!

Seeing all the recent TLA activity has me suffering seller's remorse something fierce...six times over. I have got to reacquire at least one Improved #5 and a Border Special. The Texas Army you have on the block would also be nice.

By the way, what's the asking price for #888?
