I guess when I get tired of shooting the 30-30 I need to get one of the Supermag caliber barrels .

Good looking TCs . I am starting to think they are a bottomless money pit . I still have to wrap my head around the Contender frames pressure limits .Usually when I ask about a caliber they tell me I need an Encore frame .

Think in terms of case head diameter and the original offerings: 223Rem 55KPSI, 30-30Win 40Kpsi, and so on. Note that it is irrelevant of bore diameter. For example the 357 maximum is loaded to about the same pressure as the 223Rem despite the huge difference in bore diameter. The case head diameter is the same.

The sky is the limit.... As wild or mild as you want. Box stock guns can be had quite reasonable... You can easily double that initial cost with fancy wood but that is not a requirement. Can't beat the versatility either.. One frame and virtually limitless barrels... Last count I counted over 35 different cartridges with my barrel set. I find that my special ones end up with dedicated frames... I've got a pair of Bullberry Improved barrels in the safe that will have dedicated frames one day...

Don't say no to a deal on an Encore either.... You may start with a contender but you'll want an Encore for you set one day.. Ended up with my first G2 Contender this year.. It came with 375 JDJ and a 6mm BBI barrel... Didn't really want the frame or JDJ barrel but I needed that 6mm BBI barrel... Now I'm developing a itch for the G2.. Had reservations about the trigger until Gary Reeder did an action job on one of my Encore frames that made it warm my heart.. Life is good!

Well Axe I think your right , I will need an encore frame . I see all that very cheap 7.62X39 millsurp ammo for sale . There are a bunch of guys shooting it up with Encores . They say it is a good round to reload for . From prairie dogs to whitetails .

My first Encore came with a 7.62x39 barrel... You ought to hear the TC freaks ooh and ahhh when I put it on a display table... Of course that was a few years back.. They may be a dime a dozen now days...

Ok, I'm up to two in my "set" already. No serious symptoms JDJ, Juenke, or Bullberry stuff yet. Thus far I've managed into 10" 44M and .45 barrels but the greatest pleasure thus far is breaking (stationary) clay targets at 75 yards with the iron sights in .22 LR.

I have a Contender pistol and an Encore rifle - double whammy! Here's the Contender in .44 MAG.

Matter of fact there is a barrel for sale on the Specialty Pistols forum right now that is tempting me something terrible. Unfortunately I've already spent my gun money for a while. ~JM~

So far I'm at three, a .22lr 10" Bull, a .30-30 14" SSK, and a .44Mag Octagon on the way. The addiction is firmly taking hold and like a fool I'm doing nothing to stop it.

Dont know about anyone else but I have gotten my T/C education ....... Between Axe and someothers, I dont think I am ever going to look at one much less buy one. (other than my brothers Encore 209x50). Seems like its a gateway to a large dark bottomless pit....

I guess I'm in the middling ground on the T/C. My Encore is the only centerfire rifle I have owned in over 10 years. I bought it from EABCO with a trigger job back before I even had my first credit card (had to borrow dad's - and buying an "internet gun" was unheard of in our small circles). I tried out a couple handgun iterations and decided to stick with the rifle.
I am currently working with: 24" .223 Bergara Barrel, 21" .260 custom shop barrel 23" .270 barrel (Huntington cut a muzzle brake off for me) 24" 45-100 (rechambered from stock 45-70 by Huntington)
In the as yet unfired pile are: 28" prohunter .308 Marlin 28" prohunter .338 Federal 26" .375 JDJ All of these are slated to be rechambered to a 45-100 based wildcat once i get some funding.
I also have a .50 BP barrel I haven't shot yet.
No way could I afford all this delightful variety with bolt guns. Also, my cheek weld, pull length and trigger are identical with each one, and we all know how important familiarity is to good shooting technique.
