November 10, 2024 I got an early morning shot at this buck that had been a nighttime regular on camera. I used my BFR 454 with 260 Partitions for 45ish yard shot. I hit him in a hard quartering away angle, striking the last rib on entry, and coming to a stop just under the skin offside in his neck. The lump of the bullet is visible in the pics. He dropped at the shot. He is not the biggest, but a 5X5 with 2 kickers. I'm calling him a 12 point, and that doesn't happen often around here(north Georgia). Partition doing Partition stuff

Very nice Cmnash! What number deer is this with a handgun? What does the revered bullet weigh? What was your muzzle velocity?

Very nice Cmnash! What number deer is this with a handgun? What does the revered bullet weigh? What was your muzzle velocity? I haven't weighed the bullet, but it appears to be mostly there. I was surprised it kept the front core in. Typically the handgun Partitions loose that small button of lead. I am shooting the Winchester factory load. I ran a couple over the chronograph and got 1790something, so I give them credit for 1800fps. I have kept count through the years; this is my 91st whitetail with a handgun.

Congratulations on a nice buck, 91 deer with a handgun is quite impressive, I'm hoping to take my 4th this weekend, when our first firearms season opens

Impressive & interesting antler growth! I'd have to mount it,, and I really don't need another deer mount. I've taken a lot of whitetails with a handgun, but none that interesting.

It’s nice when the tracking job is shorter than the shot distance. Nice buck.

As I was reading about the shot my brain was running ahead of me thinking "How far did he get with THAT shot"? and then my eyes caught up to my brain. My wife says I think too much. Great job on 91, I'm still waiting for 1. How often do Chevy guys say "Watcha got?" when you wear that shirt?
