New member, thank you all for having me. I found this for sale on gunsinternational, and after some research, back and forth with the seller, and inquiries to Standard Mfg., I went ahead and bought it. I'm pretty sure it's legit, but I'm not 100% sure. Seller(ffl) says he custom ordered it for a customer who ultimately couldn't pay so the seller sat on it for 4 years then decided to list it on gunsinternational where I purchased it. I think it's probably legit because the cylinder is serialized to the gun, and the serial number is odd for a Standard Mfg. I think it was custom ordered with a personalized SN. The box label was never corrected for caliber which is odd for a custom order. Any input is appreciated, thank you

At the very least, you have a beautiful revolver in a wonderful caliber. I think that fits Mr. Taffin’s definition of a Perfect Packin’ Pistol !
Oh, and welcome to the forum, from Texas.

That looks like the same gun I posted a GI link too a while back. Congratulations! I doubt that is the only 4.75” 44 special Standard Manufacturing has made, but it certainly looks to be a special order. I hope you shoot it, and give us a report! Also, can you measure the chamber throats, and groove diameter. I know that’s asking a lot. Thanks.

I believe it is the same gun, I ran across that thread while I was trying to figure out if it was authentic or not. I'm planning on doing a bit of a deep dive into just what Standards idea of a .44 spcl chamber, throat, and bore are

That is a gun that would have me owning a Standard Manufacturing SAA, if they cataloged it! Beautiful revolver in the right caliber.
