So, here's where I am on this thread...
Not being a "Traditional" Chambering is a great thing. I've always gone opposite of the crowd and done my own thing.
GW, I don't know if you're a handloader or will be. If you are, the 357 Magnum can be loaded from mild to downright impressive.
Don't ever let others influence you. You get one life, do things your way...

Encore64,
Thank you.
I hand loaded many, many years ago (when I was essentially a kid) for a .44 magnum I owned at the time as well as a .41 my buddy owned. Nothing too fancy, just straightforward stuff. I very stupidly let the .44 go and my shooting buddy joined the Coast Guard and moved away. I got out of it when I got a good job and also moved.
I have been strongly considering getting back into it and likely will. In fact I recently looked at presses at Scheels. I have a Ruger extensively customized by David Clements and .44 Special is hard to come by. Have several older revolvers that I could load for, too. I have a relative who has been hand loading for over 50 years. He cautions me it isn’t as inexpensive as it once was. But he loads for a half dozen different rifle calibers.
One thing I’d like to try is casting bullets.
Take care and thanks again for being quick to answer my initial question. gw

Interesting. I'm waiting for the conclusion.
Casting bullets is a heck of a lot of fun in its own right, not to mention all the fun of reloading.
