I saw many states have changed their laws on counting mail in ballots early. The law in most places did not allow counting of mail in ballots until after the polls closed. True, but it makes no sense to count ballots after poll closing. "Staying not political".🙂 The votes have to be counted sometime don't they? From what I heard about it was they didn't want the mail in ballots to be counted early, so they couldn't be used to forecast the way the election was going. I don't know for sure, just what I watched on the news. We like to rotate through all the news stations to try and see what's going on. Even if they didn't have early voting, or mail in ballots, people could vote up to the closing time. Then they still have all of the ballots that were cast left to count. In Idaho, our Boy Scout Troup went to volunteer to help with the ballots. The boys didn't count the ballots, they just helped carry boxes of ballots to and from the poll workers that were doing the counting. The boys stayed late until it was finished. They had lots of supervision to ensure everything was done properly. That's all I'm saying is that it takes awhile to do the work.

Yes, they need to be counted, but at some point times up. We have states claiming that their votes might not be counted fully for a week to 10 days after Tuesday. There is no valid reason for that, IMHO. It invites fraud.

I get what you're saying and agree in principle; but i also saw where the pentagon didn't request enough ballots for active duty troops. Shouldn't those troops be given a chance to vote?

Even notice we don't have all this "counting" trouble during the primaries? Hmmm....

Yeah. I've noticed that. Thinking about when the lotto gets near a billion and they are selling billions of tickets yet they can be checked quickly. Realize a different situation; but the US voting system needs improved. Real ID to vote to start. Then maybe each ballot needs a serial number corresponding to state, county, and precinct or something (if they don't). For example: ILCO##XXXXXXXXXX. Illinois Cook County Precinct 23 ballot 8678335. Still couldn't use to identify individual; but could more easily identify fraudulent ballots and location. If precinct 23 has 50,0000 registered voters and 200,000 ballots turned in, there is a problem in that precinct.

Even notice we don't have all this "counting" trouble during the primaries? Hmmm.... Each state holds its own primary and has its own voting system. There's only one "question" on a primary ballot. In a national election there are 51 voting systems, each with its own rules and procedures. Ballots, even within individual states, vary from region to region within that state due to the various choices being offered to the voters in that area (remember, JFK Jr. is still on the ballot in some states). The data from all 51 systems needs to come together to decide who our new President will be. It's two totally different scenarios, yet folks seem bent on using their lack of knowledge as proof that there are shenanigans going on behind the scenes. I've never in my life seen people cling so tightly to their ignorance...

Looking forward to the end of the hysterical shrieking political ads
No longer live near a large city & won't have to endure the temper tantrums in the streets if team red wins.

The missus said something that made me laugh yesterday due to it's common sense.
Some multi hair colored freak ( still not sure if he/she/it myself and not convinced it knows either) approached her as we were going in to vote. The usual spill for their preferred candidates followed. I was surprised she stood there listening, knowing her. She can be impatient with stupidity.
After "it" finished expressing their views, it said," Us girls gotta stick together." I thought Oh,boy! Here it comes! She just looked at the person and said," Just because she has a real "vagina" ( not exactly the word she used) doesn't in anyway make her smart!".
I was so proud!

Looks like it will be a nice day, today. . My thoughts exactly as I'm sitting in my plow truck in Colorado. Even though though I am sitting not driving because I can not see though the windshield yet and I can not open the door because the driver side window is stuck and the inside door handle is broken off. We were supposed to get 5-7 inches of snow and we got about 16 . And it's still a great morning.
